Teachers are tasked with creating organizational and social change through teaching and learning that will shape future generations.Students can become a licensed teacher as part of GW's M.Ed. program and may enroll in either a 1 or 2 year cohort. Students in the Master of Education (M.Ed.) program in Secondary Education learn the knowledge and skills needed for meaningful middle and high school teaching that makes a difference in young peoples’ lives. By integrating research and theory with school-based internships in classrooms, students from various backgrounds have the opportunity to become educators with a strong sense of student-centered and community-based teaching and are empowered to become educational leaders.
